About

An IT Health Check is a government-backed scheme comprised of a series of vulnerability scans and security control checks designed to deliberately identify and expose security vulnerabilities that might be present in IT solutions.

The key deliverable of an IT Health Check is a report which details the testing elements such as external testing, internal testing, application testing, server or endpoint build reviews and network and firewall configuration reviews. The IT Health Check is not a pass or fail audit, but an annual assessment that is a funding body requirement for many Jisc members and customers.

This live clinic will provide details of the Jisc IT Health Check service, the requirements set out in the funding agreements, what systems are in scope and the nature of the tests conducted.

Sessions and topics

The session will be led by members of the Jisc technical and service team responsible for delivering our IT Health Check service and will include time for discussion and questions.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to discuss how others have approached the IT Health Check and the benefits of doing so
  • Discuss with technical experts the scope of the IT Health Check and which systems are likely to be included
  • Understand where an IT Health Check sits among other Jisc services such as Cyber Essentials and penetration testing
