This is the third part of a series of five webinars designed to explore AI and how to maximise its benefits, focusing on what AI is and how to use it, accessibility, the use of AI tools in daily life, and creativity through AI applications.

About

This webinar will look at a range of AI tools and applications designed to improve accessibility for learners with diverse needs, including generative AI, multimodality, and assistive technologies. We will examine various AI products, with an emphasis on critically assessing their accessibility, focusing on factors such as purpose, target audience, and overall impact.

Who should attend

Anyone from a Jisc member organisation (UK further education colleges, specialist colleges or higher education institutions).

What we cover

Participants will:

  • Explore the potential and challenges of AI in enhancing educational accessibility, focusing on tools and applications like generative AI, multimodality, and assistive technology
  • Introduce current and emerging AI tools and products that aid accessibility, including Goblin.tools, ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Seeing AI
  • Examine various AI tools for their ability to meet diverse learning needs and preferences
  • Evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of AI tools in different educational contexts, considering factors like purpose, audience, and reliability

This webinar is free and open to anyone from a Jisc member organisation (UK further education colleges, specialist colleges or higher education institutions). You will therefore need to register with your institutions email address.

Session preparation and setup

Upon successful registration before the webinar you'll receive your joining instructions email from training@jisc.ac.uk. Please fully read the instructions to ensure ease of access to the live online room.

  • The webinar will be run in Teams, with live automated captioning and transcription
  • You'll also need a headset, or headphones and a microphone
  • Please sign in using your full name
